Amanda Korth is an artist, writer, and lifelong student of personal transformation.
For more than a decade, she has worked as a financial advisor and educator, helping families navigate some of life’s most significant transitions. That work deepened her fascination with identity, purpose, resilience, relationships, and the stories people carry beneath the surface.
Her early visual work often reflected a strong interest in composition, realism, and visual storytelling. More recently, her focus has shifted toward larger, more expressive abstract work. Rather than painting what something looks like, she has become increasingly interested in painting what something feels like—exploring emotion, tension, freedom, connection, contradiction, and transformation through color, texture, gesture, and mark-making.
That evolution continues to challenge her natural tendencies toward structure, precision, and design. Much of her current abstract work is an exploration of what happens when certainty gives way to curiosity—and when control makes enough room for something less predictable, more intuitive, and more honest to emerge.
At the same time, writing has become an increasingly important part of Amanda’s creative life. Through novels and plays, she explores many of the same questions that appear in her paintings: what makes us feel fully alive, what happens when we outgrow old identities, how relationships shape us, and what we choose to do with the life that remains.
Her fiction is particularly drawn to people at moments of reinvention—when the roles, beliefs, relationships, or expectations that once defined them no longer fit quite as neatly. Her work moves between humor and emotional depth, often examining aging, marriage, friendship, caregiving, faith, longing, curiosity, legacy, and the sometimes ridiculous ways human beings try to understand one another.
If her paintings explore interior experience, her writing explores what happens when that interior experience collides with other people.
Amanda’s Christian faith has been a steady foundation throughout her adult life and informs the way she views growth, creativity, relationships, and personal responsibility. She believes curiosity, discernment, creativity, and the desire to keep growing are gifts from God, and her work reflects an ongoing search for truth, meaning, beauty, and what it means to live fully and faithfully.
Across both painting and writing, one question continues to surface:
What does it mean to be fully AWAKE to your own life?
Her work is ultimately about meaning, transformation, curiosity, and the lifelong process of becoming who we were created to be.
Amanda lives in southern Colorado with her wonderful husband of more than 20 years, three dogs, two cats, and somewhere between 21 and 26 chickens at any given time.
